Why Choose to Work With Darby QS?
Experience, expertise, reliability, results.
Eoin Darby founded Darby & Associates Chartered Quantity Surveyors in 2013. With over eighteen years experience in construction in Ireland, Northern Ireland and New Zealand, Eoin has worked on a multitude of residential, commercial and healthcare projects ranging vastly in size and value.
Eoin started his career in construction a long time before becoming a QS, working for a civil engineering contractor as a labourer and a chainman before enrolling in Construction Technology at DIT Bolton Street. This broad-based course offered an excellent grounding for a career in the construction, which led him on to the part-time quantity surveying honours degree course at DIT.
Eoin then spent four years in New Zealand working on earthquake strengthening projects, office fit-outs and residential projects, all with the central theme of building cost control. Returning to Ireland in 2013, Eoin felt further study was warranted in areas he was keen to expand his knowledge base - construction project management. On completion of this post-graduate diploma at Trinity College, Eoin took on another post-grad, this time in the area of conservation. The course “Applied Building Repair and Conservation” was closely linked to many of the projects Eoin was working on, refurbishment of 18th and 19th Century houses. Eoin continued his studies in 2022 with the coveted Post Grad Diploma in Construction Law and Contract Administration from Trinity College, completing this in May 2023, award due January 2024.
Eoin has a passion for all things construction and takes pride in the personal relationships built with clients. Most of Darby and Associates’ work comes through referrals and recommendations as we specialise in advising on building costs for residential construction projects. Eoin has carried out lecturing in TU Dublin teaching advanced building measurement to the future quantity surveyors of the Irish construction industry, and in Victoria University Wellington, New Zealand.
